Prior Service Business Rules


The Prior Service Business Rules act as a guide for Soldiers who are interested in reenlisting in the regular Army. The rules generally outline when and how a Soldier can reenlist and which MOSs are available.

a. Vacancies by grade and MOS (changes based on the needs of the Army):

 

i. Grades E-1 thru E-4 – 11B, 11C, 12B, 12D (see para 5d), 12P (see para 5d), 12Y, 13B, 13J, 13M, 14G, 14P, 14T, 15W, 15Y, 17C, 17E (formerly 29E, 19D, 19K, 35G, 35M (see para 5d), 35T, 68W, 74D, 88M, 89D (see para 5d), 91A, 92Y, 94H, 94M, 94P, and 94S.

 

ii. Grade E-5 – 11B, 12P (see para 5d), 13F, 13M, 14P, 17C, 17E (formerly 29E),19D, 19K, 35F, 35G, 35L(see para 5d), 35P (see para 5d), 37F(see para 5d), 46S (formally 46Q and 46R; see para 5d), 74D, 88N, 89D (with ALC, Team Leader Certified, see para 5d), 91A, 91M, or 92Y.

 

iii. Grade E-6 – 11B, 13F, 19D, 19K, 25D, 25E, 35F, 35G, 35P (see para 5d), 89D (with ALC, Team Leader Certification, less than 12 months TIG, see para 5d).

NOTE: Must possess current licenses/certifications for MOSs 68C and 68W.



b. If no vacancy exists, the following MOS will be used for retraining (changes based on the needs of the Army):

 

i. Grades E-1 thru E-4 – 11X, 12B, 13B, 13J, 13M, 14P, 14T, 15W, 15Y, 17C, 17E, 19D, 19K, 35T, 68W, 74D, 88M, 91A, and 92Y.

 

ii. Grades E-5 – 11X, 13F, 13M, 14P, 17E, 18X, 19D, 19K, 35F, 35M (see para 5d), 35P (see para 5d), 74D (must have ALC), 88N, 91A, 91M, and 92Y.

 

iii. Grades E-6 – 14P, 35F, 35G, 35P (see para 5d).



c. The following vacancies by grade and MOS are available for enlistment for Option 3 or 18 if already Airborne qualified:

 

i. Grades E-1 thru E-4 – 11B, 12B, 13B, 13J, 14P, 17E, 19D, 25B, 25C, 25N, 25R, 25U, 35G, 35T, 42A, 68W, 74D, 88M, 88N, 89B, and 92Y. 

Those not MOS qualified are authorized Option 3 Training in one of the above-listed MOS.

 

ii. Grade E-5 – 11B, 13B, 17E, 25C, 74D, 88N, 92G, and 92Y. 

Those not MOS qualified are authorized Option 3 Training in one of the above-listed MOS.

 

iii. Grades E-6 and above – no vacancies.
