Retention Control Point (RCP)
Retention Control Points (RCP) are for enlisted Soldiers serving on active duty across all Army components.
These are the MAXIMUM years you can serve at current rank.

RCPs apply to:
• Soldiers serving in the Regular Army,
• Soldiers of the U.S. Army Reserve, and
• Army National Guard Soldiers serving under the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Title 10
RCPs do not apply to:
• Soldiers serving in the USAR or ARNGUS who are mobilized or assigned to the Individual
Ready Reserve (IRR) or a Troop Program Unit (TPU)
UPDATE:
Effective immediately eligible Soldiers who volunteer, and are approved for continued service by their immediate commander, are authorized to serve to the higher ETP RCP listed below:
